Sequel to the promise he had earlier made, Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has drawn some people with himself to stage a protest in front of the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department.
Fabiyi staged the protest to demand that his colleague, Omiyinka James, also known as Baba Ijesha, should be granted bail following the allegation that he defiled a minor.
Everyvery.ng had reported that men of the Lagos State police command arrested Baba Ijesha in March after a CCTV footage shows that he attempted to defile a 14-year-old foster daughter of comedienne, Princess after he had defiled the girl when she was seven years old.
In a post on his Instagram page, Fabiyi described honesty as the first chapter in the book of wisdom. According to the actor, anyone who lacks human rights understanding is a threat to public peace.
He further stated that anyone who displays an inhuman character on social media is grooming the next generation of bias and emotional people instead of those who will follow the law.
Fabiyi reiterated that sexual assault, among others, are bailable offences; he urged his fans to look away from emotions and realise that there is no need to support any idea that will deny anybody his or her rights.
Meanwhile, some of his followers on the social media page have reacted to his demand that Baba Ijesha should be granted bail.
An IG user, hardephunkemi, said, “Bros, our fight here is that SEXUAL ASSAULT shouldn’t be a bailable offence, especially when it has to do with Minors.”
