NSCIA and Ramadan fast

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, (NSCIA), says the Ramadan fast continues tomorrow as there is no moon in sight, signalling the end of the fast.

This news is coming after a notice was sent across the country for Muslims to look out for the moon, without which the news would continue.

In a tweet by the NSCIA, the condition for ending the 2020 Ramadan fast has not been met, so this year’s fast will extend to the 30th day.

“There was no positive sighting report of the Shawwal crescent in Nigeria, tomorrow is 30th Ramadan.”

The federal government had earlier declared tomorrow Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24 as public holidays for this years Eid-el-Fitri celebration.
