Nnamdi Kanu Freedom: Malami to Fight Back via Supreme Court

Share

Nnamdi Kanu Freedom is greeted with some celebration and jubilations in some quarters of the South-Eastern parts of Nigeria, while other government instruments are not satisfied with the Appeal Court’s judgement to release the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB leader.

Upon learning about Nnamdi Kanu freedom, a judgement by an appellant court, the Federal Government, through the office of the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, revealed that the case is not yet over.

Malami resolved that the Federal Government, on Thursday, indicated that it would approach the Supreme Court to challenge the Court of Appeal judgement that quashed the terrorism charge it preferred against the detained leader of the Biafrans.

The Justice Minister is still not convinced that Kanu has been acquitted, he insisted that the court merely discharged IPOB’s leader on grounds that he was illegally detained and repatriated from Kenya to Nigeria.

Meanwhile, there are massive gyrations in the east over Kanu’s freedom as the finalisation procedures for his release are being processed.
