Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport is one of the five International airports in Nigeria. The airport is also one of the busiest airports in the country. Abuja airport is named after Nigeria’s first President Nnamdi Azikiwe. It is located in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, Abuja. It is the main airport serving the Nigerian capital city. The airport is approximately 20 kilometers (12 miles) west of Abuja; and has an international and a domestic terminal that share a single runway. The airport is owned/ operated by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The airport has a newly completed terminal building which can process up to 15 million passengers annually. This was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari on 20th December, 2018. Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport has a new runway for both its domestic and international flights.
