Nigerians have continued to react to the Oba of Lagos’ statement, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, who claimed that EndSARS protesters stole $2m, N17m from his palace.
In a Twitter trend, many Nigerians called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to arrest the Monarch to explain how he got the money.
According to Oba Akiolu, the hoodlums who stole the money would not have done that if they knew the implication.
He urged the Nigerian Government to help the Lagos state recover from the destruction due to the enormous loss caused by hoodlums who hijacked the EndSARS protests.

Meanwhile, another Twitter user Festus Ogun, @mrfestusogun, shared a different opinion noting that every citizen has the right to keep as much money as they want at their residence.
“From a strict legal view, you have the right as a citizen to keep as much money as you want at your residence or anywhere whatsoever. Money is personal property, and the right to own property is guaranteed under Section 43 and 44 of the 1999 Constitution, he tweeted.
You will recall that hoodlums broke into the Oba’s palace on October 21, 2020, and carted away the Oba’s staff and other artefacts.
