Ayodele Fayose, a former Governor of Ekiti State, has received numerous ridicules over his decision to pay a visit to the leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, who’s back in Nigeria.
Fayose paid an unofficial visit to the former Governor of Lagos, following the knee treatment Tinubu received in a London-based hospital.
The pictures showing the duo together on the internet later sparked various reactions, especially on Twitter, as observers suspected some hidden intentions regarding the visit.
Fayose Gives Reason for Visit to APC Leader
In his defence, the former Governor, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, revealed that in the late hours of Tuesday, 12, 2021, he paid a visit to wish the APC Leader a speedy recovery after his surgery.
He argued it is best to pay regard when someone is alive than to join others in signing condolence registers after the person in question passes on.
Fayose was accused by many Twitter users that by identifying with Tinubu, he’s only attempting to gain support and influence to have the APC leader change the course of his court case on alleged fraud.
