Joseph Yobo led the Remembrance of Late Super Eagles Coach Stephen Keshi

Nigerians and Super Eagles ex-captain Joseph Yobo posted a heartfelt tribute to late Super Eagles head coach Stephen Keshi four years after his death. Joseph Yobo took his Instagram handle to post the tribute, according to him he wrote the world on this day four years ago lost the Big Boss who was reported then to have suffered heart attack six months after the death of his wife.

Stephen Keshi’s death came as a big shock to all Nigerians and many people around the world considering what he has achieved in football. Stephen Keshi even inside grave remains the only Nigerian who has won the African Cup of Nations title as a player and as a coach as well. Yobo who was his captain when the Super Eagles won the Nations Cup in South Africa in 2013 explained that the legacies Keshi left behind live on.

Joseph Yobo wrote on his Instagram saying: “Dear coach, it’s been four years today since you left us to rest with the Lord. You are deeply missed but your legacy lives on! Rest on the Big Boss.”

The late Super Eagles head coach Keshi made his Nigeria bow in 1981 at the age 20 and made 64 caps and scored nine goals for Nigeria before retiring from international football, and became a coach. He has coached a couple of African countries besides Nigeria, he coached Mali and Togo, he won the African Cup of Nations with Nigeria in 2013 with that he became the first and only Super Eagles player to win the African Cup of Nations as a player and as a coach as well.
