Nigerians have started drawing the Government’s attention to the excessive budgeting and spending on projects that the citizens would not have direct access to when completed.
Many spoke about the accumulating debts, yet, the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Administration continues expending the country’s resources on what they referred to as a white elephant.
Tweeps stormed their media handles to express how disappointed they were when it was gathered the Minister of Aviation, Haidi Sirika, revealed that he spent N12 Billion to purchase only 12 firefighting trucks.
On the other hand, the Government has set plans in motion to install free internet services for 20 Airports around the country.
The project will also cut across higher institutions, selected market spaces and some Small and Medium Scale Businesses.
Twitter Users identified the projects as a welcomed development but argued that they would not see the light of day when the money is released, as ordinary Nigerians would always be denied access to the services.
The tweeps called for proper monitoring of the project and arrest of any official found diverting funds meant for actualising the objectives.
