In a heartwarming show of kindness and compassion, popular Nigerian musician, Portable, recently took it upon himself to distribute free foodstuffs to vulnerable children in Lagos.
Portable, who is renowned for his infectious beats and energetic stage performances, put his music on hold for a day to focus on giving back to the community. He visited several neighbourhoods in Lagos and handed out bags of rice, beans, noodles, and other basic food items to children who are struggling to make ends meet.
The gesture brought tears to the eyes of many parents who were present, as they expressed their gratitude to the artiste for his kindness and generosity.
Speaking to reporters at the scene, Portable explained that he felt compelled to help out in any way that he could, especially in light of the harsh economic challenges faced by many families in the country.
“Times are tough for everyone, especially those with little or no means of livelihood. As an artiste, I have been blessed with a platform to touch the lives of people through my music. It is only natural that I extend that impact to other areas of society as well,” he said.
The artiste also took the opportunity to urge other celebrities and well-meaning Nigerians to lend their support in whatever capacity they can to help alleviate the suffering of the less privileged.
