Nigeria Receives 292 Evacuees From Saudi Arabia

The Nigerian government has announced that it has successfully evacuated an additional 292 Nigerians back into the country, and this time from Saudi Arabia.

According to the Foreign Affairs Minister of Nigeria, Geoffrey Onyeama, most of the evacuees are nursing mothers and children, and they are presently in the capital Abuja where they landed, and are now being quarantined in a comfortable hotel.

The foreign affairs minister released this statement in a tweet on his page, “We received 292 evacuees stranded in Saudi Arabia yesterday. The Saudi Government transported them to Abuja. A large number are nursing mothers and children, and they are all comfortably settled in hotels under the mandatory 14 days quarantine.”

The country has so far evacuated Nigerians from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. The total number of evacuees is not close to a thousand in the country, with the government working on getting back more of its citizens from countries where they are stranded.
