NGF, Nigeria Governor’s Forum in Abuja has started the induction program for new and returning Governors.
The program, holding at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa has the newly elected and the out-going Governors in attendance.
The President was represented by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo.
The Chairman of the Forum Abdul-Aziz Yari has addressed the new governors and encouraged them to get ready to face new challenges.
He praised the President for the release of the bail out funds for the states and called on state government to increase their IGR. He warned that over-relying on crude oil would not help the states to meet their financial challenges.
The induction is aimed at supporting incoming governors and to help them develop governance and management skills. This will enable smooth transition from campaigning to managing the process of governance.
