The Paris Saint Germain forward Neymar is set to miss the remainder of 2021 through injury.
The official club website confirmed that the Brazilian forward would be unavailable for up to 6-8 weeks after picking up a sprained ankle ligament injury in their 3-1 away win over St. Etienne.
The Brazilian forward will miss PSG’s last group stage UEFA champions league fixture against Club Brugge and up to seven Ligue 1 matches.
PSG are 12 points clear at the league’s summit and are guaranteed a second-place finish going into their last fixture of the UEFA competition.
The Paris side has Julian Draxler still out with injury while Marco Veratti, Mauro Icardi, Georginio Wijnaldum and Ander Herrera are back in training.
The club will give a new update to clarify Neymar’s diagnosis in 72 hours.
