The Lagos state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu has presented the staff of office to the newly appointed Oniru of Iruland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Wasiu Omogbolahan Lawal (ABISOGUN II).
Mr Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to governor Sanwoolu confirmed this in a post via his Twitter handle on Sunday, June, 7.
According to Akosile, the governor officially presented the Staff of Office and other instruments of appointment to Oba Abdulwasiu Gbolahan Lawal, making him the official 15th Oniru of Iruland.
You will recall that the State Executive Council had on June 5 approved the selection of Prince Gbolahan Lawal as the new Oniru-Elect of Iruland.
Before his appointment as the Oniru, Prince Gbolahan was the Commissioner for Agriculture of our state and one of the longest-serving members of the state cabinet.
In a post on his Twitter handle, governor Sanwoolu while congratulating the new Oniru expressed optimism that he would build on the worthy legacy of his forebears as the new Oniru of Iruland.
