New Music: 2Baba and Waje Team Up Against Two-Faced Acquaintances

2face Idibia, now preferably known as 2Baba, is in a very comfortable place in his music career. To be quite honest, he has earned it through two decades of churning out good music laced with wisdom and, sometimes, moral equivocation. He isn’t under any sort of pressure to make music yet he gifts us enjoyable and sometimes humorous music (“Amaka”, “Gaga Shuffle”).

His most recent release titled “Frenemies” features talented Waje who has refused to retire from even after announcing to do so (I hope Rihanna knows she can do this though?). Anyway, “Frenemies” is a song delivered in a reggae fashion (an old 2face style) which calls out two-faced friends, a theme already suggested by the song title by blending the words “friends” and “enemies”.

These kind of people are believed to exist amongst us and are often out to undermine or ruin us. And in a covetous industry like the entertainment one, such people are said to abound. Waje and 2Baba sing Bazuka and fire upon their frenemies a manner that can be likened to Pentecostal prayer sessions. But they have been in the industry for a long time and they definitely know what they talking about.

The song is enjoyable on an average level. Not that we’re complaining. Nobody likes a pretender/hypocrite. Yet everyone loves a 2Baba and Waje collabo. You should listen to the song!
