However, the current season has not been in favour of Celtic, and they are well behind their rivals Rangers to win tenth-straight titles in the Scottish Premiership. Celtic suffered have not been in the best of form this season.

Also, they are struggling to find their footing in the league. They have knocked off the Europa League in the group stage and only have their local company, which Rangers has almost won, to contend.

Neil Lennon Comment after his Resignation

“We have experienced a difficult season due to so many factors, and it is very frustrating and disappointing that we have not been able to hit the same heights as we did previously,” Lennon said.

The manager said he has always put his best into the club and have been proud to deliver silverware to the Celtic supporters. He also said the club is part of him, and he will always be a Celtic supporter.

Following his resignation, Rangers head Steven Gerald has come out to say he is not surprised Lennon resigned, especially with what is happening in the club. Gerald, however, wishes him well.
