Share

Nigerian politician and philanthropist Ned Nwoko have ordered the arrest of popular aphrodisiac seller Hauwa Muhammed popularly known as Jaruma.

Jaruma has been arrested and remanded by an Abuja Upper Area Court pending a bail hearing set for Friday.

Ned Nwoko petitioned the defendant for publishing false information about him and his wife on Instagram.

Jaruma had claimed in an Instagram post that she paid N10m to Nwoko’s wife, Regina Daniels to advertise Kayanmata but the actress failed in the agreement.

She also insulted Nwoko in another post, accusing him of benefitting from her product, while claiming Regina controls him by using the product on him.

The police have arraigned Jaruma for defamation of character, false news publication and intimidation.

Jaruma’s lawyer, Mr James Odibe, has made an oral bail application, pleading with the court to grant the defendant bail on self-recognition or in the alternative, in the most liberal terms.

The Judge, Ismailia Abdullahi, has however ruled that Jaruma be remanded in Suleja Correctional Centre pending a bail hearing on Friday, and the trial adjourned till February 23, 2021.
