NDLEA Makes Major Drug Busts in FCT

NDLEA Operatives made a major drug bust in the city centre, raided a popular garden and successfully confiscated drugs worth hundreds of thousands of naira in the process.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency also apprehended up to six drug peddlers for dealing what seemed to be adulterated noodles and cookies all prepared with hard substances.

According to Mr Femi Babafemi, the Director, Media and Advocacy of the illegal drug fighting agency, he said the arrest were carried out due to credible intelligence sources that provided information for the arrest, on Sunday in Abuja.

He said NDLEA led the raid to the Wuse Zone 5 Garden immediately behind ShopRite, around where one lady Rachael Famiyesun, 29, was arrested along with her salesgirl, Stella Sunday, 20, for dealing in drug cookies.

NDLEA Investigation Reveals New Tricks

However, the investigation showed that the drug dealers were also arrested for selling bottled Zobo drinks alleged to have been made with marijuana leaves.

Babafemi said another business operator in the garden, Moses Obi, 30, was also arrested with his salesgirl, Aisha Abdulrahman, 19, for selling indomie noodles prepared with cannabis.

Also, other arrests made within the same spot included one Ahonye Jonah, a supposed Bartender, age 31, who worked with the garden owner, with one of their customers, 38-year-old Ngozi Justina Emelogu, was also picked during the raid on Jan. 19.
