NDLEA Arrests CDQ, Fingers Other Big Artistes

The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA arrests CDQ (born Sodiq Yusuf) while mentioning that other big artists were on their investigation radar.

This incident happened in the artiste’s house while he was reportedly on Instagram live on the night of Wednesday, 14 April. Although CDQ did not make any conclusive statement on the matter, he made a post and the caption implied that someone was trying to implicate him. See the post below;

In the comments, some of his followers who claimed to be eyewitnesses confirmed that CDQ mentioned that officers of the NDLEA were knocking on his door. One follower with the handle Wilmer Africa narrated that he heard the officers assaulting CDQ when he asked for a warrant to search his house.

NDLEA Arrests CDQ

Confirming the arrest, NDLEA’s Director, Media, and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi said,

“Yes, CDQ was arrested in his house at Lekki for being in possession of cannabis. He was arrested based on intelligence. As of last night, he was granted administrative bail, but he is expected back into custody today because it is an ongoing investigation.”

Speaking more on the case, Babafemi explained that as the intelligence report said, CDQ was found with a variant of Cannabis called ‘Loud’ and after thorough questioning, CDQ has put other bid wigs in the industry under their investigation radar. The statement read,

“Some substances were found and he mentioned some names of some other big artistes. So, it is an ongoing investigation.”

The spokesperson also said the outcome of the investigation will determine if CDQ will be charged to court or not.
