NCDC Shows LGAs With Highest COVID-19 Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has released information showing the Local Government Areas (LGA) with the highest COVID-19 infections recorded.

The data shows twenty local government areas with the most infections out of the 774 local government areas in the country.

These twenty Local Government Areas are spread across eight states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Lagos state has the most Local Governments, with the state represented by 11 Local Governments. Bauchi, Katsina, Kano, Borno, Edo, Ogun, Jigawa, and the FCT.

The LGAs In Lagos are;

  • Lagos Mainland – 1,274 cases
  • Mushin – 458
  • Eti-Osa – 403
  • Alimosho – 239
  • Kosofe – 175
  • Ikeja – 168
  • Oshodi/Isolo – 132
  • Apapa – 131
  • Amuwo Odofin – 129
  • Lagos Island – 111
  • Surulere – 110

The other LGAs are;

  • FCT – Abuja Municipal – 536
  • Kano – Tarauni – 248
  • Katsina – 242 cases
  • Jigawa – Dutse – 170
  • Borno – Maiduguri – 167
  • Kano – Nassarawa – 152
  • Edo – Oredo – 126 cases
  • Bauchi – 114 cases
  • Ogun – Ado Odo/Ota – 107

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced a total of 10819 cases in the country, with 3239 patients successfully treated and discharged and 314 dead as at 3rd June 2020.
