Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, insists that Nigerian Citizens should obtain their National Identity Number, NIN, or else, face various disadvantages if they continue to abscond from the registration process.
The Commission stressed that persons who fail to carry out the registration would be denied relevant documents such as driving licences and passports, among others.
NCC hinted that all it takes is to ensure that the Subscriber Identity Modules, SIM is linked to the identification number. Every requirement would be made available to citizens who seek the documents mentioned above.
Dr Ikehukwu Adinde, the Commission’s Director of Public Affairs, who made the revelation yesterday in Abuja, insisted Nigerians register as the deadline will soon elapse.

“Soon, people without NIN will be denied necessary services that play vital roles in their lives including acquisition of driving licence, passport,” the statement read in parts.
