The National Broadcasting Corporation, NBC has taken action on Ric Hassani’s latest hit song, ‘Thunder Fire You’.

The song has been banned from being played on the radio and fines are to be paid for stations that played the song.

Ric Hassani made this known via his official Twitter page.

His tweet reads,So, the NBC has banned my song ‘Thunder Fire You’ and are fining radio stations that play it. Interesting. I’ve always been calm in the storm.”

He, however, did not disclose reasons but it is likely the song was banned for the use of certain words.

Some lyrics from the song are “Thunder fire you for when you cheated on me”, “E no go better for you”.

Although it’s a breakup song, this may seem as offensive and a breach of NBC code

The song has been widely accepted by Nigerians and has generated reactions from social media users when it was released. Read More

The artiste in a tweet was surprised by the acceptance and stated that he trended with the violence-themed song despite being a gentleman.

Ric Hassani is popularly known for his hit single “Gentleman”, and his debut album “The African Gentleman”.

Thunder Fire You’ is off his recently dropped album, ‘The Prince I Became‘.
