Given the alarming rate of rape in recent times, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP has advised Nigerians on what to do.
The agency advised Nigerians to report cases of rape or any form of sexual harassment within their vicinity to the agency or police station.
NAPTIP Boss, Julie Okah-Donli, who made this known added that the names and photos of rapists in the country would soon be published.

She said reporting cases of rape is the only way to curtail the act.
Julie said the agency would not compromise its work if such cases were reported adding that rape cases are not reported because of stigmatisation of the victims hence the reason for the rise in the cases of rape.
The NAPTIP Boss said the Sex Offenders’ Register had already been opened in the agency to document the names of sex offenders for further actions.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Police Force had on Wednesday, June 3 published phone numbers through which the general public could report the incidence of rape.
Before now, many Nigerians have taken to different social media platforms to express concerns over the increasing rates of Sexual harassment targeted at the girl child in the country.
While reacting to the rape and murder of Uwa Omozuwa in Benin city, Edo state and the murder of Barakat Bello in Akinyele Area of Ibadan, many people have charged the federal government, security agencies and other stakeholders to rise to tackle the issue of rape with all seriousness.
In the meantime, many Nigerian celebrities and some people who have fallen victim of sexual harassment have joined the campaign aganisnt rape on the social media platform.
