Mystery! 4 Oil Workers, NSCDC Personnel Missing in Bayelsa

NSCDC has confirmed that four oil workers and an officer of their Corps have gone missing in the Koluama 1 Area of Bayelsa State.

The oil workers are contract staff of the popular Conoil Company and were reportedly whisked off at the Conoil fields in the aforementioned region.

On Monday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, tied the whereabouts of the missing workers and their personnel to the activities of gunmen in the state.

Mr Solomon Ogbere, the spokesperson for the NSCDC, hinted that the five victims were abducted while on their way to Koluama 1 in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, LGA of Bayelsa State.

He revealed that the abductees were taken to an unknown location, thereby hindering the victims from transporting some supplies from Yenagoa to the personnel at the Conoil location in Koluama 1.

On Monday, a family source to one of the abducted oil workers told journalists that the kidnappers have already requested twenty-five million naira to secure their release.
