Musician Duncan Mighty Slammed With N10M Lawsuit

Nigerian musician Duncan Wene Mighty Okechukwu fondly called Duncan Mighty has been slammed with a N10m lawsuit for an alleged breach of contract.

A show promoter at Resort Carabana, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state revealed that the musician collected a sum of N3m to perform at the opening of the resort on the 2nd of January, 2022, but failed to show up.

It also revealed that Duncan Mighty did not reach out to the organizers about his absence nor did he give reasons, an action described by the lawyer as being “treated with contempt”.

A lawsuit against the 38-year-old music producer revealed that his breach of contract has caused the organizers so much mental distress, financial loss and reputational damage.

The promoter alleged to had paid Duncan Mighty N2.5m for the show and an additional N500,000 for a business class ticket for his crew.

The client’s lawyer demanded a return of the sum paid by the promoter and a video of an unreserved public apology published on his Instagram page.

The letter concluded with a warning that failure to meet the demands within 48 hours of the receipt of the form, legal measures would be taken against him.

The musician is yet to react to these allegations, as efforts to speak to him at press time were unsuccessful.
