Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P of the defunct P Square music group has labelled Nigerian leaders as a failure.
Mr P, who took to his Twitter handle on Thursday, June 4 to express his feelings about how Nigerian leaders are steering the ship of the Nation asked his followers if they wished they were not born in Nigeria.
The singer said this in reaction to the news that the Federal Government has approved the sum of twenty-seven billion naira for the renovation of the National Assembly complex.
The money was reduced from the initial amount of thirty-seven billion naira, hence cutting 9.3 billion naira from the budget for the renovation of the complex.
Meanwhile, the Basic Health Care Provision Fund was reduced to 25.5 billion naira, a decrease of over 42.5 per cent.
Also in the proposed revised budget, the Universal Basic Education fund was reduced by 54.2 per cent to N51.1bn from N 111.7 billion naira.
Earlier, Reno Omokri, the former spokesman for Ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan criticized the decision of the federal government to borrow $22.7 billion from foreign nations and spending 27 billion naira to renovate the National Assembly complex.
According to Omokri, in 2017, President of the United States of America, Donald Trump renovated the White House with $1.7 million.
He further stressed that the amount budgeted for the renovation can build ten world-class hospitals to treat COVID-19 patients in the country.
