As the presidential election day draws closer and closer celebrities have been bashing each other based on their choice of candidate. Seun Kuti and Mr P of the P-Square duo are the newest celebrities to be bashing each other. The son of the late legendary afrobeat pioneer, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, had earlier said Peter Obi cannot save Nigeria because he considers him an opportunist.
Seun Kuti talking about Peter Obi said: “He hasn’t had the time because he started too late. You can’t be telling me that just because you lost PDP primaries 18 months before the election, you suddenly started a movement, and you have a plan for the country.”
“No, that’s opportunism. And it’s not an opportunist that will deliver Nigeria—not jumping on Labour Party. The Labour Party has a socialist structure. Peter Obi is a capitalist. Where are they going?”
Reacting to the comment Mr P (Paul Okoye) fired back at him saying that Seun Kuti has ‘just erased his father’s history’. In a Twitter post, Okoye wrote, “Dude just keep quiet! So so disappointed! The dude just erased his father’s History! You said only the people of Nigeria can save Nigeria! Is PO and the rest candidates, not the Nigerian people?…. SHAME! SHAME!! SHAME!!!”
The fight did not stop there as he said all the Nigerian musicians became who they are just because his father invented the afrobeat music genre. Mr P said all he does is brag about his family’s background and achievements. Mr Peter Okoye said he can’t even remember any song Seun Kuti has ever sung, as all he does is critics people and the country as well.
