Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal has shared how she almost quit acting for being misunderstood in characters.
Lawal noted that she had noticed people thought her real person was always in the script she acts.
The actress said she was once asked how she was coping with the loss of a husband and how many places she has worked as a maid, just because she acted a script to perfection.
Moyo Lawal took to her Instagram page to share a video collage of some of the roles she has acted since she started as an actor.
She wrote “At some point … I didn’t want to act anymore, because I realized people couldn’t understand that I was just playing a character ….
“…. (Like how do I start explaining that I just read a script, when people expect me to understand what they are going through because * I went through it 😩💁 even though I have in reality never gone through it 😪.
“🙄 I can’t even start to break it down for you to understand right now … like asking me, how I am coping with losing my husband? As how? 🤕
“…. Asking me, how many places I worked as a maid before I got my big break 😒 koyemi oooh ..pardon?? Asking me all sorts and seeing all sorts of assumptions 🙄🤨… my God.”
Moyo Lawal also added that it was high time she did a professional showreel while warning her fans not to take her character in movies seriously, as she is a different person entirely.
