Barcelona’s all-time top scorer Lionel Messi has returned to training ground following his failed attempt to force a move away from the Camp Nou. The 33-year-old submitted a transfer request on the 25th of August but he said last Friday he would stay because it is “impossible” for any team to pay his release clause.
It is the first time the six-time Ballon d’Or winner will be training with the club since the arrival of new manager Ronald Koeman. Barcelona begins their La Liga campaign against Villarreal on 27 September. Lionel Messi trained on his own, as did Philippe Coutinho, while the rest of the squad trained together.
The Player is likely to leave the club at the end of his contract which is next year July after the drama he put out following the 8-2 humiliation Bayern Munich thrashed them in the Uefa Champions League quarter-finals.
