Chelsea and England attacking midfielder, Mason Mount has revealed he grew up idolizing and watching Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo. Mount said he always watched the Portuguese International very closely, adding that he loved the way he played his free kicks. According to him, he said: “I think everyone has seen the video of when I was younger, basing my free kick off him [Cristiano Ronaldo].” “I always watched him [Ronaldo] very closely when he was at [Manchester] United as a young kid. I loved the way he played, his free-kicks.”
The Chelsea star said: “So I always try to look at and work out, what can I do, to put it into my game? But now to play against him is the journey that you go on from watching someone in the stands as a fan and then to being on the same pitch and playing against them.” “It is a crazy journey and yeah, that is why I love football so much.”
Mason Mount has played against Cristiano Ronaldo twice and on those two occasions he did not score but Ronaldo scored on one of the occasions, which was their last meeting which ended 1:1.
Mason Mount has been very impactful on the Chelsea team as he is one of their top goalscorer and also one of the players with the highest number of assists. He is also arguably the most in-form Chelsea player presently. He was not questioned about the popular argument of who is better Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi but with his comments about the United player, he might have just made his own choice.
