Marie Osmond is joining The Talk as a new co-host replacing Sara Gilbert. She will serve as a panelist on the daytime show when its 10th season premieres in September.
Osmond joins co-hosts Carrie Ann Inaba, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and former rap star Eve.
“It is such a joy for me to be joining THE TALK in September. After appearing as a guest on the show throughout the years, I am thrilled to now call this my day job. I look forward to working with Sharon, Sheryl, Eve and Carrie Ann. Who are such smart, strong, talented women whom I immensely respect. I cannot wait to share this exciting new chapter with the viewers and the CBS family.”
Executive VP, daytime programs for CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Distribution, Angelica McDaniel, said. “If you’ve seen Marie Osmond guest host on The Talk over the past nine seasons, you know she’s the perfect addition to the show. Marie’s impressive career accomplishments have endeared her to fans throughout the decades. Her willingness to be authentic and share personal triumphs and struggles with honesty in the hopes of helping others always resonates. I’m excited to kick off season 10 with the multitalented, dynamic Marie at The Talk table.”
Sara Gilbert’s upcoming departure and Marie Osmond’s reported anticipated arrival will be just the latest shakeup at The Talk in recent months. Just last fall, fellow original moderator Julie Chen decided to leave the show amid husband, Les Moonves’ sexual misconduct scandal.
According to CNN, Chen was later replaced by Carrie Ann Inaba. Given Osmond’s decades’ long experience in showbiz, pop cultural clout, and previous appearance on The Talk, we’re sure she’d also fit in just fine.
