Marco Silva and Everton in a Bit to PathWays

Share

Marco Silva is one the coaches fans expects to be fired long before now, as the sacking of coach trend lingers in the EPL. He has already survived one round of emergency talks among the club’s management after their loss to Norwich City on 23 November. After the sack of Tottenham’s head coach Mauricio Pochettino and Arsenal’s Unai Emery Marco could have been next. Shockingly he was not sacked even when Watford coach was sacked about a week ago he was still not sacked.

Right now the 42-year-old Portuguese will packing his things set for whatever comes his way after last night’s derby against Liverpool. The match ended in in favor of the current EPL league leaders Liverpool, they conceded four goals in the first 45minutes. Origi and Shaqiri scored in the first 20 minutes of the game before Michael Keane gave the away team an opener to make the scoreline 2-1.

Things are Going From Bad to Worst

Mane and Origi doubled the lead before Brazilian Richarlison found the back of the net in the last minutes of the first half and ended the first half 4-2. Things became bad them as Georginio Wijnaldum rounded up the scoring making the scoreline 5-2. It was a sad Merseyside derby for the Blues losing back to back in the English Premier League.

After the match Marco Silva was asked what he thinks about his future in the aftermath of Everton’s eighth defeat in 11 games. He said: “I am not the right person to talk about this situation. You are asking me and I don’t have the answer.” The answer may be delivered on Thursday, after their next EPL game which is against Chelsea at Goodison Park.

Marco Silva Might Still Have Some Hope

Silva escaped the sack after the Norwich loss because Everton’s hierarchy appreciated. They said he has worked tirelessly and suffered injuries to key players including Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Fabian Delph. The present season is a very tough one not just for the Marco Silva alone but also the players too.

If he goes, and in the unlikely event Everton announce a replacement, the manager to take over will be 56-year-old Scot Moyes. The former Everton man is likely to replace Marco Silva in the Goodison Park on a temporary basis. If Scott Moyes, who spent 11 years with Everton is used to replace the Portuguese, it will be like backward movement.

“Scott Moyes is Not an Option” Everton Fans

Fans of the clubs has said they would rather prefer Marco Silva to stay than allow Scott Moyes take over after all his poor coaching recorda. He joined Manchester United in 2013 but was sacked due to poor management and lack of result. Mayes also coached Real Socieded, Sunderland and then, he had a short spell at West Ham.

There are expected to be further discussions on Thursday morning which is likely to result to the sack of Marco Silva. The manager was appointed in May 2018, and if he is sacked they he stayed less than two years with Goodison Park side. It will be sad for the majority shareholder Moshiri, who is the man who recommended him for the job. If Silva is sacked, he would be the fourth man to suffer that fate since Moshiri bought a share in Everton in February 2016. The rest are first three are Roberto Martinez, Koeman and Sam Allardyce.
