Manchester United Suffer Shocking Defeat in Old Trafford

Manchester United were supprised yesterday as they were beaten in their legendary Old Trafford by Crystal Palace. It was Manchester United first game of the season and Crystal Palace second game. Crystal Palace have now won two of their opening features while United lost all three points in their first game of the season.

Odion Ighalo featured for nine minutes as Manchester United opened the season with a shocking 3-1 home defeat against Crystal Palace at the Old Trafford on Saturday. The forward took the place of Timothy Fosu- Mensah in the 81st minute. Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze also started the game from the bench and took the place of Jeffrey Schlupp in the 75th minute.

Former Manchester United player Wilfred Zaha was the hero of the day as he pull out two goals in the encounter. Andros Townsend gave Palace the lead in the seventh minute. Wilfred Zaha, who featured in just four games during his year-long spell at United earlier his career scored from the penalty spot in the 74th minute after Andre Ayew missed after VAR check the penalty was asked to be re-taken because De Gea came out of the line before it was played.

Netherlands midfielder Donny van de Beek came on for his United debut in the second half and reduced the deficit with a well-taken effort 10 minutes from time. Zaha’s superb finish five minutes from time ensured a second successive victory for the visitors at Old Trafford.
