Manchester City and Germany midfielder Ilkay Gundogan have tested positive for coronavirus. The 29-year-old is currently observing a 10-day self-isolation period, the Premier League club confirmed this in the last round of the test they conducted for all the players. Being that the player is positive with the virus he will miss their opening fixture against Wolves today Monday.
According to a statement released by the management, it says: “Everyone at the club wishes Ilkay a speedy recovery.” Manchester City recorded one case of the virus like two weeks back when Algerian international Mahrez tested positive for the virus.
It was not just the winger (Riyad Mahrez), France defender Aymeric Laporte also tested positive for the virus but the two players are now back in training. Pep Guardiola’s side are also due to play Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup on Thursday and Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
