English Premier League side Manchester City has set a new all-time record in England’s top 4 league tiers after beating Newcastle United 4-3 in their away on Friday’s Premier League tie.
The win means Manchester City are now the first team in the history of the top four tiers of English football to win 12 consecutive league games away from home, since the formation of the Football League in 1888.
Man City latest attacker Ferran Torres scored a hat-trick in the game to win the match ball and stole the highlight of the game.
Manchester City went behind to Emil Krafth’s powerful header from Jonjo Shelvey’s corner in the 25th minute of the game. City’s defender Joao Cancelo equalised for them just few minutes later with a deflected effort into the bottom right corner of the net. Ferran Torres converted Ilkay Gundogan’s free-kick in the 42nd minute to make it 2-1 before Newcastle United were awarded a penalty in the last minute of the first half to level scores to 2-2.
Arsenal loanee Joe Willock continued his impressive form with Newcastle United as he reacted quickly to score his saved penalty to put his side in front again.
Just two minutes after Willock’s goal Ferran Torres levelled the scores from Gabriel Jesus’ pass. The Spanish international completed his hat-trick to make the scores 4-3 as City won the game and are now the English Premier League champions following Manchester United lose to Liverpool.
