Paul Pogba has publicly admitted he wants to leave Old Trafford this summer. Pogba told reporters in Tokyo;
“As you said, there is a lot of talking and a lot of thinking as well. For me, I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great. Some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else. After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well. I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else. I am thinking of this, to have a new challenge somewhere else.”
According to reports, the United Boardroom was ‘distinctly unimpressed’ with the player. They are frustrated that Pogba used a promotional tour with an official club partner to make the statement about his future. United have already targeted Barcelona stars Coutinho and Rakitic as his replacement.
Philippe Coutinho, the former Liverpool player who has struggled at Barca, is on United’s shortlist. The Brazilian has endured a difficult season with the Catalan giants, even seeing some of his performances booed by Barca’s support. Manchester United are keeping tabs on his situation at the Nou Camp but Paris Saint-Germain are also known to be interested in securing his services.
These moves all depend on Pogba and what the French World Cup winner decides to do this summer, but his recent comments suggest he could well be on the move.
