Man Kills Elder Brother in Akala village of Anambra State

A man identified as Kosarachukwu Ugwuka has publicly confessed that he killed his elder brother because of a land dispute. The man owned to the fact that he is responsible for the mysterious death of his elder brother in Akala village in Ezinifite, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State. Kosarachukwu confessed to a popular shrine at Nando in Anambra East Local Government Area on Sunday, July 10.

It was gathered that the deceased, Chukwudi Josiah Ugwuka who is 35 years of age died on April 27, 2022, after battling a series of mysterious sicknesses and was taken from one hospital to the other. Chukwudi was laid to rest on June 23, 2022. His burial announcement was made by the suspect, according to the obituary sighted by LIB.

Narrating the incident, a family member who pleaded anonymity said Ugwuka initially denied knowing anything about the death of his elder brother until he was dogged to the shrine. The eyewitness said: “But when both of them were repeatedly interrogated, the nephew maintained that he is innocent, while Ugwuka continued to accuse him, and also continued to deny that he did not have any hand in the death.”

“As a result, the villagers had to resort to using traditional means to unravel the truth. They have to take them to a popular shrine at Nando last Sunday, to swear before the deity, to prove their innocence.” “After his nephew had sworn and was vindicated, Ugwuka was hooked and instantly blinded by the deity while swearing, which made him start confessing immediately. It was during the confession that he revealed that he killed his elder brother by adding rat poison to his food and he did it because of a land dispute the two of them had.
