A forty-nine-year-old man identified as Ubong Williams Akpan has explained why he raped his 12-year-old daughter after men of Ogun state police command arrested him.
Police arrested Akpan for unlawfully having carnal knowledge of his 12 years old daughter following a report lodged at Itele Ota divisional headquarters by the victim.
The twelve-year-old girl reportedly confessed that her father has been abusing her sexually for the past five years.
Meanwhile, the Ogun state police command spokesperson, Oyeyemi Abimbola, said the man was arrested after getting a report from the DPO of Itele ota division, CSP Monday Unoegbe.
According to Abimbola, the suspect confessed to the crime, claiming that his wife appears too old and is no longer looking attractive.
Oyeyemi said the Ogun state police commissioner, CP Edward Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the family support unit of Ota area command for further investigation and prosecution.
However, Ajogun also directed that the victim be taken to the general hospital for proper medical treatment.
