Liverpool vs Leipzig UCL Game Gets Shocking Venue

Liverpool and RB Leipzig Uefa Champions League last-16 first game which was discussed about some times last week concerning the venue for the game has finally been concluded.

According to findings from Uefa, the first leg which will be against RB Leipzig will be played in Budapest, Hungary. Liverpool was banned from traveling to Germany because of the continuous increase in coronavirus cases across Europe.

Germany placed a ban prohibiting most countries from coming into their country especially from countries hit hard by new variants of the coronavirus which the United Kingdom is among.

Bundesliga club RB Leipzig was told that if they are not able to a good pitch or venue that will meet the requirement of Uefa the game will be voided and Liverpool gave three points.

Good News for Leipzig, Bad News for Liverpool

It is now good news for RB Leipzig and bad news for Liverpool as they will not be given the whole three points. The game will now take place at Budapest’s Puskas Arena and it will be on the same date which was set before.

The return leg will be played on the 10th of March at Anfield. Uefa thanked both clubs for their understanding and “close cooperation and assistance in finding a solution.”

They also thanked the Hungarian Football Federation for accepting to host the match.
