The Reds came from 3-1 down to level the scores before they moved into penalties. Takumi Minamino’s 95th-minute equalizer completed Liverpool’s recovery from 3-1 down, and even though the Japan international missed his spot-kick, Kelleher saved from Luke Thomas and Ryan Bertrand before Diogo Jota put away the winning penalty.

Leicester City’s skipper Jamie Vardy scored twice in the game with James Maddison’s strike to make it three goals. The visitors had a comfortable win from the first half as they headed into the half-time break with two goals advantage. Liverpool came back strong in the second half as former Wolves player Jota built on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s first-half goal to initiate the come back with a goal.

Minamino completed the comeback as he scored a last-minute goal to send the game into penalties. Leicester City failed to convert two of their penalties as Caoimhin Kelleher saved two of them to make the scores 5-4 knocking Leicester City out of the Carabao Cup.
