A Nigerian media personality, Linda Ikeji has denied the claims that she altered her six-year-old son, Jayce’s surname.
The rumour started on Tuesday after the blogger posted a vacation picture with her son and his cousin Ryan. In the post, she mentioned her son using her last name, which caused speculation about a potential surname alteration.
After her post, some internet users alleged that she changed her son’s last name from her baby daddy, Sholaye Jeremi’s, to hers.
Disproving the rumours, Linda Ikeji stated that her son has always had her last name as his surname. she stressed that the decision to change it would be left to him when he reaches the appropriate age.
On her Instagram story, she wrote: “Just to be clear. I’ve never ever had to change my son’s surname.
“He’s been an Ikeji right from when he was born! Where do I have the time or patience to be changing names?
“Changing it and keeping his surname (Ikeji) will be up to him when he ages. Food for my Junior colleagues”.
