Alex Ekubo Lekki
Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo has taken to his social media page to suggest a name for the Lekki Tollgate, where many young Nigerians on peaceful protest were massacred.
In the wake of the pandemonium that preceded a peaceful protest that called for an end to police brutality and saw some young Nigerian’s pay the ultimate price, Nollywood Actor, Alex Ekubo, has called for the immortalization of the fallen comrades.
Alex Ekubo in his post stated that the Lekki Toll Plaza should be renamed ‘Lekki Memorial’ in what he described would be in memory to those who died for the cause. He also added that the tollgate should be made free.
He shared a photo of himself and friends, IK Ogbonna and Yomi Casuals during the course of the protest at the Lekki Tollgate and captioned, “Lekki Toll Plaza, should be renamed Lekki Memorial Way… & be made Toll Free… in Honor of our fallen comrades…”
It was a Black Tuesday (October, 20, 2020) at the Lekki Tollgate as Armed men dressed in Nigeria military uniform, shot at unarmed protesters at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos, Nigeria following the removal of CCTV camera and taking of light at the protest ground.
