Winner of the 5th edition of Big Brother Naija reality Tv Show, Olalekan Agbeleshe, also known as Laycon.

Meanwhile, many Twitter users have shared their view on the post made by the LIRS. Below are some of the reactions.

@latijanil “A responsible citizen should pay his tax.. The entire prize money will be shared among his team and he will bear the full tax responsibility in 2021. Someone had better advice the guy to start planning how he manages the money. The taxman’s eye is on the N85m.

@solomonapenja “A responsible citizen should pay taxes when a govt is equally responsible with its utilisation of taxes Why should anyone pay taxes so the governor, his family and his political lords can live la vida loca while inner-city roads are left dilapidated? Has Lagos been responsible?

@akanbi2k “Can you prove that Laycon worked for the 85m? It’s a cash gift for participating in a show BBN is not his occupation. If the 85m cannot be classified as an income, then it is not taxable! You tax income, not gifts.

@ms_jay_akola “Lool. You think you only pay tax on money earned(worked for)? Just do a Google search on tax on prize money/lottery etc and educate yourself on it. Infact read in taxation and you would realise you are liable to pay tax on almost if not everything.

@Mr_Olufemi “I can’t laugh here o. One of my brothers asked to knw when has BBNaija become a trade, profession, vocation, or business, Very valid question. Abi on wat basis do you want to see him in 2021? Maybe as an ambassador sha! Don’t try us o, some iCONs sef be tax professionals o.

Earlier, organisers of the BBNaija show has on Monday announced that all the winners during the reality Tv Show will collect their prizes on Wednesday, September 30 by 11 am (read more here).
