Kylian Mbappe On Three Match Ban Following Saturday Altercation

World cup winner, Kylian Mbappe was banned for three matches on Friday following his send-off for a reckless tackle during Paris Saint Germain’s French Cup final against Rennes.

The French Football Federation (FFF) said they also opened a disciplinary proceedings against Mbappe’s teammate Neymar. Neymar for striking a Renne’s fan following the shocking deafest on penalties after extra time.

Mbappe, 20, lunged with his studs into the knee of Rennes defender Damien Da Silva. The incident was close to the ending of the extra time on Sunday.

Having missed one match, Kylian Mbappe will miss Saturday’s game against Nice. Also, he will be missing the trip to Angers the following week but will be available for the last 2 games of the season.

The threat of further sanctions hand on Neymar. Banned for three Champions League matches after insulting the referee following PSG’s exit, from the last 16 at the hands of Manchester United.

This time, however, Neymar lashed out at an abusive opposing fan as he climbed the steps to receive his French cup final losers medal.

Online video shows the fan insulting several PSG players. Further telling the Brazilian superstars to “go learn how to play football”.

Unfortunately he is no longer in position to challenge world favorite Lionel Messi for the Golden Shoe. As things stand, mercurial Argentine is leadings the way with has 34 goals to his name. While, Mbappe has managed 30 in Ligue 1.

PSG still have four Ligue 1 fixtures to take in this season, with another domestic title already wrapped up.

The statement by FFF on Friday read:

“Meeting on Thursday, 2 May, 2019, the Federal Commission of Discipline, following the final of the Coupe de France between Stade Rebnnais and Paris-Saint-Germain, Saturday, April 27 at the Stade de France, sanctioned Kylian Mbape with a three-game suspension an opened proceedings against Neymar.”
