World cup winner, Kylian Mbappe was banned for three matches on Friday following his send-off for a reckless tackle during Paris Saint Germain’s French Cup final against Rennes.
The French Football Federation (FFF) said they also opened a disciplinary proceedings against Mbappe’s teammate Neymar. Neymar for striking a Renne’s fan following the shocking deafest on penalties after extra time.
Mbappe, 20, lunged with his studs into the knee of Rennes defender Damien Da Silva. The incident was close to the ending of the extra time on Sunday.
Having missed one match, Kylian Mbappe will miss Saturday’s game against Nice. Also, he will be missing the trip to Angers the following week but will be available for the last 2 games of the season.
The threat of further sanctions hand on Neymar. Banned for three Champions League matches after insulting the referee following PSG’s exit, from the last 16 at the hands of Manchester United.
