Kwara Commissions Sheabutter Processing Plant

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commissioned a Sheabutter processing plant at Wozibe, Kaiama Local Government Area of the State.

AbdulRazaq said the plant was commissioned to encourage Industrialization within the nooks and crannies of the state.

The governor added that the plant came at a time when his government is resuscitating the moribund industries in the state.

Meanwhile, Governor AbdulRazaq was represented at the occasion by the Commissioner for Enterprise, Alhaji Abdulwahab Agbaje.

He said the state is blessed with Shea tree and is ranked the second tree populated state in Nigeria with high economic potentials in Sheabutter production.

According to him, the project is a tripartite arrangement between the World Trade Organization, Nigerian Export Promotion Council, and the host state, Kwara.

The Governor explained further that the project is intended at shifting Sheabutter processing from the local ways to international standards.

He also assured that the state government has set machinery in motion to create a conducive environment for appointing a resourceful investor.

The investor is to manage the Sheabutter facility in Kaiama to enhance the economic development of the state.
