Eglish Premier League top said West Ham United is closing in on the £25m signing of Chelsea and France defender Kurt Zouma. West Ham head coach David Moyes has been desperate to bolster his Hammers squad before the start of the Europa League, and he thinks the player will do well for his team.
26-year-old Kurt Zouma has completed his medical with the club, and it is understood personal terms have been agreed upon, with a deal set to be completed. David Moyes reacting to this, said: “We have had an offer accepted from Chelsea for Kurt, but I could not tell you if the medicals have been completed yet.”
The France defender played 36 games for Chelsea last season but is not viewed as a long-term prospect by Thomas Tuchel, who has been targeting Sevilla’s France defender Jules Kounde. The Blues boss also confirmed that a deal was close.
Chelsea head coach said: “There are negotiations between West Ham and Chelsea about Kurt.” He also said: “Kurt right now is not with us but not because of these negotiations. He’s had some personal and family issues, and we allowed him to travel to France.”
“There are negotiations, but, to be very honest, I don’t know where that leads right now.” Zouma linked up with Chelsea when he was 19-year-old from French Ligue side Saint-Etienne in January 2014 and has had loan spells in the Premier League with Stoke and Everton.
