According to reports, Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has lost his mum, Mrs Elisabeth, who died as the age of 81 in their country Germany. The head coach is currently in as he will not be available for his mother’s burial due to the coronavirus restrictions.
The news of his mum’s death was confirmed on Liverpool’s official Twitter account in late hours of Wednesday. Liverpool posted a picture of the woman and the manager, and then wrote: “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.
According to the manager, he said his mother means everything to him. He said: “She was a real mum in the best sense of the word. As a devout Christian, I know she is in a better place now.”
Jurgen Klopp will not be able to make it to the burial due to the global pandemic ravaging the world. He is from Germany and the restrictions there are severe. Champions League games which were to be played in Germany was moved to another location because of the restrictions.
Liverpool will be playing RB Leipzig in Hungary, Klopp said that he would not be to make it to the funeral is an excruciating thing for him. Elisabeth is survived by three children: Stefanie, Isolde and Jurgen who is the youngster. Their Norbert Klopp died in 2000 at the age of 66 after a brief illness.
