The Presidential Candidate under the umbrella of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) during the 2019 presidential elections, Kingsley Moghalu has bagged a traditional title as Ifek’ego Nnewi.
Moghalu, who expressed delight over the new title in a tweet on Monday disclosed that the traditional ruler of his hometown, HRH Igwe K.O.N. Orizu III, the 600-year old hereditary Nnewi Kingdom, honored him with the title at his 57th Ofala.
According to the political economist, Ifekaego means someone or something bigger than money. He opined that the recognition matters to him.
Moghalu stated that the new title is a strong statement of his values in life adding that integrity matters far more than money.
“In public service for the world and my country, I have never compromised on it. It matters what we teach our society and how we are remembered.” Moghalu said.
He further noted that the recognition matters to him because according to him, the Orizu III showed appreciation for his humble contributions to his hometown community, Anambra State, Nigeria, and the world.
Moghalu, who is a former United Nations official said the traditional title would serve as an encouragement to remain on the track of service.
However, the professor of International Business and public policy at the Tufts University Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy said the new title has formally made him a member of the Body of Titled Chiefs of Nnewi.
Moghalu is the founder of the Institute for Governance and Economic Transformation and Sogato Strategies (LLC), he is also a senior adviser of the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum.
