Kingmakers Demand Removal Of Oluwo
In a petition to Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, the kingmakers in Iwo have demanded the removal of the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi over allegations that the Monarch is not representing the throne well.
One of the allegations levelled against the Oluwo by the Kingmakers comprising of twelve chiefs includes an alleged disrespect of the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
Also, the Oluwo was accused of having issues with Agboowu of Ogbaagba, Dhikrulahi Akinropo, Chief Abiola Ogundokun, Imran Adio. Moreover, he was accused of insulting the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Orangun of Ila among others.
Reacting to the call for his removal, the Monarch in a statement by his spokesperson, Alli Ibrahim, described the call as a conspiracy led by his rival to distract him.
According to the traditional ruler, the call is sponsored by a detractor who has been fighting so hard to become the Oluwo of Iwo.
You will recall that the Oluwo had reportedly been involved in a series of controversies since former Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, gave him a staff of office in 2016.
