Kidnapped FRSC Officials Accuse Police Of Lying About Ransom

The Nasarawa State Police spokesman, Ramham Nansel has been accused of lying about the circumstances surrounding the six kidnapped Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC officials who were recently released by their abductors.

The FRSC officials while reacting to claims by Ramham that they were rescued by the security agencies without paying ransom said they paid betweenN5 to 6 million naira each to secure their freedom.

While speaking to BBC Hausa Service, the FRSC officials said there is no element of truth in what the police spokesman said.

According to the officials, the kidnappers established contact with their relatives and withdraw the money in Nasarawa town.

They added that the kidnappers kept them aside and counted the ransom to ensure it was complete adding that they did not finish counting it because it was getting dark.

Another victim whose leg was amputated as a result of the gunshot from the incident said some of them paid between 5 to 6 million naira before they released.
