The PSG Women’s player Kheira Hamraoui who was attacked by masked men two weeks ago has finally given a detailed account of how things happened. According to the 31-year-old Kheira Hamraoui, she was dragged from a car being driven by her 26-year-old Paris St-Germain teammate Aminata Diallo before some hood men came and dragged her out of the car.
She said she was beaten with an iron bar, leaving her with several bruises and cuts on her legs which required stitches. Following the attack, Aminata Diallo was arrested and accused of plotting the attack on her teammate. Then it was said that Aminata did it because they both play in the same midfield position and is a direct rival for a starting spot.
The 26-year-old was later released from custody and had vehemently denied being part of the attack, calling the allegation a ‘perfectly artificial dramatisation.’ French police have since extended their investigation to find those responsible for the attack.
The report has it that Aminata dropped Sakina Karchaoui, a teammate, before the attack began in Chatou, Yvelines. Kheira Hamraoui said: “My attacker hit me with an iron bar several times. I saw that he was mainly targeting my legs, and I was trying to protect myself with my hands.”
She also said: “At that time, I didn’t see a weapon. They immediately start yelling: “Open the door! Open the door!” The one on my side grabbed me and pulled me out of the vehicle.” “Before, he grabbed a rectangular iron bar that he had hidden in his pants or under his sweater.”
“He gave me the first blow from the first moments of the assault to force me out of the cabin. I fell on the road and then on the right side of the road.” “My attacker hit me with an iron bar several times. I saw that he was mainly targeting my legs, and I was trying to protect myself with my hands,” she continued.
She also said the attack happened for some minutes before they fled when they noticed cars coming in their direction. It is now reported that the wife of former Barcelona board member and player Eric Abidal Hayet Abidal had sent the attackers. Investigations are still on, but it was said that the attack might have had something to do with the alleged relationship between Hamraoui and Abidal.
